Prayer Nights
Prayer in its simplest, basic form is communication with God, our heavenly Father. Every born-again believer should have a prayer life, because prayer is the impetus for all change and progress. Prayer can move mountains, it can heal, it can destroy evil, and it can pull blessings down from the spiritual realm to the natural realm, where we now reside.
Jesus told His disciples that if they asked, it would be given; if they sought, they would find, and if they knocked the door would be open. As it was with them, so it is with us. Christ Himself prayed in the garden of Gethsemane, prior to His crucifixion, and by no means is the servant (us) greater than His Master (Christ), so if Jesus prayed, we have to pray too.
At Faith Victory Ministries International, there is a great opportunity for the entire congregation to get together to pray; we call this corporate prayer. Our weekly prayer meeting lasts for two hours; for some this may seem like a long time, but it isn’t. Think of personal, family, and work situations for which you need prayer. Add to this, what’s happening in the city of Chicago, the state of Illinois, the United States of America, and the world.
For newer believers, prayers may begin with the personal, but as God enlarges his people’s hearts toward others, their prayers can reach the ends of the earth, places where they may never physically go, but there is no distance in the spirit. This is why we pray.
Other opportunities for prayer are twice weekly, late night Prayer Warrior Night meetings. All are invited, but those who are committed to prayer come consistently and obtain miraculous breakthroughs in prayer. The enemy works in darkness, both natural and spiritual; however, when the prayer warriors meet and pray at night, they are penetrating spiritual darkness, exposing the works of the evil one, so the glorious light of Christ will shine on it, and effect change:
